The Indian Oil Officers’ Association has announced protests after IOCL field officer Mahesh Shelke was fatally stabbed while performing official duties at a petrol pump in Hingoli. The association demanded stronger security, risk assessments, police support and a time-bound investigation, urging IOCL and authorities to ensure staff safety and zero tolerance for workplace violence.

Property Syndicate Allegedly Spent ₹5 Crore on Kohli’s Vrindavan Visit

76% UPI Users May Shift Payments After New MDR Rule
A LocalCircles survey found 76% of UPI users may shift large payments away from UPI if a 0.4% Merchant Discount Rate applies to specified transactions above ₹2,000 from October 15. Among respondents, 26% preferred credit cards and 26% chose cash, while 13% favoured debit cards and 11% preferred bank transfers, NEFT or IMPS for such payments under the new rules.
Amazon, Flipkart Review CCTV Listings Over Security Concerns

ATF, Commercial LPG Prices Rise; Domestic Fuel Rates Unchanged
Oil companies have raised Aviation Turbine Fuel prices by ₹16 per litre and increased 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder prices by ₹62.50 from Thursday. Domestic LPG, petrol and diesel prices remain unchanged. ATF now costs ₹137 per litre for domestic airlines. The increases could raise airline operating costs, and potentially fares, while commercial LPG prices also reflect international energy market pressures.
Army Helicopters Land on Highway Near Pakistan Border
The Indian Army used a stretch of National Highway 911 near Dantour in Rajasthan as a temporary helipad during a drill near India-Pakistan border. Rudra, Dhruv and Chetak helicopters conducted landing and takeoff exercises from the highway.
