Srinagar Marathon Expo Runs Until October 24 as Over 1,800 Runners Register

The Srinagar Marathon Expo is being held at Polo View Sports Ground and will continue until October 24, ahead of the main race scheduled for October 25. The expo features official marathon merchandise, including T-shirts and running kits, while on-the-spot registrations remain open for interested participants.
According to the event details, more than 1,800 runners have registered so far, including 73 participants representing 12 countries. This year’s marathon features increased prize money and a new category aimed at providing greater opportunities for local athletes.
The race routes will offer participants scenic views of Dal Lake and Kashmir’s renowned Mughal gardens, combining sporting competition with the region’s natural and cultural attractions.
Abdullah, a former participant, is set to flag off the race. The event aims to promote fitness, encourage sports participation and showcase Kashmir as a tourism destination.
The marathon’s inclusion on the international marathon calendar is expected to strengthen its global profile and attract wider attention to sporting events in the region.
