Patna: The Bihar capital has received 27 new air-conditioned electric buses under the Centre’s PM-eBus Sewa scheme, taking its total fleet to 52. According to the Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC), the new buses will improve connectivity between Patna and nearby towns, including Hajipur, Bihta, Maner, Naubatpur and Janipur.
The new fleet includes eight pink buses designated for women commuters. Two will operate between Kargil Chowk and Paliganj, while three each will serve the Danapur-Shivala and Janipur routes.
The buses will also connect several surrounding areas, including Bikram, Jandaha and Jagannpura ISBT, according to the proposed route plan.
Under the central government’s scheme, Bihar is scheduled to receive 400 air-conditioned electric buses for public transport. Patna has been allocated 150 buses, while Gaya, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga and Purnia will receive 50 each. The expansion aims to improve public transport availability and connectivity across the state.
