SKMCH GNM Student Hospitalised After Suicide Attempt

Brief By Newsbrief / 9:24 AM on 04 Oct 2026

A GNM student at SKMCH in Muzaffarpur was admitted to the ICU after allegedly consuming a large quantity of sleeping pills. The student, identified as Supriya Kumari from Nalanda district, reportedly fell ill on Friday night before being taken to the hospital by classmates and the warden.

Her father, Sanjay Kumar, submitted a written complaint to SKMCH OP police, alleging that the college warden had harassed his daughter for around six months. He claimed her attendance was allegedly marked absent despite her presence and that she was denied leave despite requiring regular medical check-ups in Patna for a nerve-related condition.

Police said they are investigating the allegations and will record the student’s statement once she regains consciousness. Further action will depend on her statement and the complaint submitted by her family. The student remains under medical supervision, with doctors monitoring her condition in the ICU.
