Airfares from major cities to Patna have surged ahead of Diwali and Chhath, with fares on several routes rising sharply as festive travel demand increases. According to the report, Delhi-Patna tickets for November 7 are currently priced around ₹17,000 to ₹20,000, while Ahmedabad-Patna fares range between ₹25,000 and ₹29,000.

Bengaluru-Patna fares are around ₹22,000 to ₹24,000, while Chennai-Patna tickets are priced at approximately ₹21,000 to ₹23,000. Mumbai-Patna fares are around ₹22,000 to ₹24,000.

Airfares have risen as travellers return to Bihar for Diwali and Chhath celebrations. Airlines have attributed the increase to strong festive-season demand and higher aviation turbine fuel prices.

The surge is expected to continue through Chhath, although fares could gradually return towards normal levels after November 20, when the peak festive travel period ends. Passengers planning journeys to Patna have been advised to book early on popular routes, as prices may remain elevated during the festival period.
