The Delhi Rouse Avenue Court on Saturday heard the IRCTC hotel tender money-laundering case involving former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, Tejashwi Yadav and other accused. The formal process of framing charges could not be completed, prompting the court to schedule the next hearing for October 30, 2026.

The case relates to alleged irregularities in the tender process for two railway hotels in Ranchi and Puri during Lalu Yadav’s tenure as Union Railway Minister. According to the CBI and Enforcement Directorate, the hotel contracts were allegedly awarded to Sujata Hotels, while related transactions involving land and company shares in Patna are alleged to have formed part of a quid-pro-quo arrangement.

On September 10, the court directed that charges under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act be framed against nine of the 16 accused, while seven were discharged. Lalu Yadav and his family have denied the allegations.
