Additional teams are being sent from neighbouring districts, including Darbhanga, Madhubani, Samastipur and East Champaran. Helicopters are being used to air-drop ration packets in areas where ground access remains difficult. More than 5,000 ration packets had already been air-dropped, with further supplies scheduled. Another 40,000 ration packets are being sent to Saran from Patna, Siwan, Bhojpur, Buxar and Vaishali. The state is also arranging 75,000 polythene sheets from Darbhanga, Madhubani, Sitamarhi and Samastipur to provide protection to flood-affected families.
