Brief By Newsbrief / 9:15 AM on 03 Oct 2026

The Bihar government is set to begin construction of three new Ganga paths next year, with selected consultants already working on detailed project reports (DPRs). They have been directed to complete the reports within three months, after which the tendering process for construction will be expedited.

The three projects include Ambika Path, a 56-km route connecting Bidupur and Dighwara along the southern bank of the Ganga. Vishwamitra Path will cover 90 km between Buxar and Koilwar via Ara and Maner. Narayani Path will extend 73 km from Darihara (Konhua) in Saran district to Dumariya Ghat in Gopalganj.

Consultants have completed the preliminary alignments and will now study the final routes, estimated project costs, traffic pressure and potential toll revenue. The projects are being monitored by the Bihar State Road Development Corporation. The government has also assessed traffic requirements for the next 25 years while planning these major connectivity projects.
