Oil companies have increased Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices by ₹16 per litre and raised the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders by ₹62.50 from Thursday. ATF now costs ₹137 per litre for domestic airlines, up from ₹121.
The increase follows previous ATF hikes in August and September and could raise operating costs for airlines, as fuel accounts for a significant share of their expenses. Airlines may pass additional cost to passengers through higher fares, depending on market conditions and pricing policies.
Commercial LPG prices have also risen after earlier fluctuations, including reductions in July and August. However, consumers using domestic LPG have been spared another increase. The price of a 14.2-kg household cylinder remains ₹942.
Petrol and diesel prices are also unchanged. Oil companies review ATF and LPG rates monthly, with international fuel prices and the rupee-dollar exchange rate influencing revisions. Local taxes can cause price differences across states.
