Bihar Launches Orientation for 2,451 Newly Appointed Assistant Professors

Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary inaugurated an orientation programme for 2,451 appointed assistant professors across 211 newly created degree colleges in Bihar. Addressing them, Choudhary congratulated the teachers and urged them to work with commitment to strengthen higher education and shape students’ futures.

He said Bihar’s institutions, including Nalanda and Vikramshila, represent a knowledge tradition that must be advanced through modern technology, quality education and improved infrastructure. The government is developing 700 Saraswati Vidya Niketan model schools, with facilities supporting students preparing for NEET and JEE.

Choudhary said increasing colleges alone would not be enough unless students attend classes regularly and use available resources. He announced plans to send 100 professors for training at Oxford and other reputed institutions. The state government, he said, spends 21% of its budget on education and aims to build a modern, quality-focused education system.
