UGC-NET June 2026 Re-Exam Results Released
NTA has released UGC-NET June 2026 re-exam results for English, Commerce and Sociology. Of 1,96,491 registered candidates, 1,20,355 appeared on September 9-10. A total of 824 qualified for JRF, 11,610 for Assistant Professor and 23,154 for PhD admission. Candidates can now download scorecards using their application number and password from the official website online.

Bihar Launches Orientation for 2,451 Newly Appointed Assistant Professors
Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary inaugurated an orientation programme for 2,451 newly appointed assistant professors in 211 degree colleges in Bihar. He urged them to improve education quality and guide students. Choudhary said 21% of the budget is allocated to education and announced plans to train 100 professors at Oxford and other institutions.

IGNOU introduces one-year Master’s route under NEP
IGNOU has introduced one-year postgraduate programmes for eligible students, offering a shorter pathway to higher education under the National Education Policy 2020. The new route covers selected disciplines including English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Economics, Commerce and Journalism. Admission is available to graduates meeting prescribed eligibility criteria, while four-year degree holders receive priority for the accelerated Master’s option.
IIT Patna’s Hybrid Programmes See Sharp Enrolment Growth
IIT Patna’s hybrid programmes have recorded strong enrolment growth, crossing 5,000 students. Enrolment rose from 1,892 in 2023 to 3,800 in 2024 and 5,141 in 2025, while 2026 registrations continue. Programmes cover AI, data science, cybersecurity and related fields. Launched in 2023, offerings include undergraduate, postgraduate and short-term courses, along with internships.
Odisha Waives Admission Fees for SC-ST Students at Government Colleges
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that SC and ST students entering government medical and engineering colleges will not need to pay fees. They will receive a six-month fee deferment, allowing payment after scholarships arrive. The move aims to support disadvantaged students facing upfront admission costs. Guidelines will follow.
NEET-PG 2026 Re-Exam Set for September 5 After Jaipur Disruption
The NEET-PG 2026 examination was conducted nationwide, but candidates at two Jaipur centres could not complete the test due to a power failure. NBEMS announced a re-examination for affected candidates on September 5 at 3 PM in Jaipur. Revised admit cards and venue details will be communicated separately through official channels.
UGC-NET Results Declared for 84 Subjects; Over 97,000 Qualify for PhD
NTA has announced UGC-NET results for 84 subjects, as 6.07 lakh appeared. Over 97,000 qualified for PhD, while over 4,000 cleared JRF eligibility. Due to errors in three papers, re-exams will be held on September 9 and 10 without additional fees. Results are available online.
Bihar to Drop ‘Fail’ From Marksheets, Introduce ‘Eligible for Skill’
Minister Mithilesh Tiwari announced that students’ marksheets and certificates will no longer use the word “Fail.” Instead, “Eligible for Skill” will indicate students who do not pass. The move aims to protect students’ morale. Supplementary exam candidates will receive classes, while examination rules will be revised by BSEB.
Bihar D.El.Ed Admission Deadline Extended to August 24
Bihar School Examination Board has extended the deadline for D.El.Ed 2026-28 admissions to August 24. The schedule includes three selection lists. First merit list will be released on August 27, followed by admissions through August 31. The second list is scheduled for September 5, while the third will be published September 12.
