Patna: Construction of the 9-km Kanhauli-Sherpur six-lane road is scheduled to begin in October, with the project expected to ease traffic congestion and significantly improve connectivity across western Patna. The ₹778-crore project will provide an alternative route for heavy vehicles, reducing pressure on Patna’s existing road network. It will connect with the Bihta-Danapur elevated road, strengthening links between North Bihar, South Bihar and Jharkhand.
The project is expected to benefit rural areas by improving road connectivity and supporting transportation, trade and other economic activities. Authorities said preparations for construction have intensified.
Meanwhile, another major infrastructure project, the Mithapur-Parsa Railway Overbridge, is targeted for completion by December. The railway crossing is expected to improve connectivity between Patna Junction and Parsa Bazaar railway stations. According to officials, around 80% of the ROB’s superstructure work has been completed, while remaining construction is being accelerated rapidly.
