Jan Suraaj Protest Erupts in Gaya Over Reservation Sub-Classification

A major protest was held in Gaya against reservation sub-classification, led by Jan Suraaj Party leader and former Bodh Gaya Assembly candidate Laxman Manjhi. The protest march began at the historic Gandhi Maidan and proceeded to the main entrance of the district collectorate, where demonstrators burned effigies of Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and Bihar Minister Santosh Kumar Suman.

A large number of Jan Suraaj workers and local residents participated, raising slogans against reservation sub-classification and expressing fears that the policy could gradually weaken the reservation system.

Laxman Manjhi said reservation was intended to bring historically deprived and backward communities into the mainstream. He accused certain leaders of misusing the system for political benefit and demanded that those supporting sub-classification resign and contest from general seats.

Manjhi also alleged threats to his safety and said he would approach police with supporting documents. Protesters vowed to intensify their movement if the government proceeds against their demands.
