Construction of the Rs 4,410-crore Araria-Galgalia rail project has raised safety concerns after heavy rain reportedly caused soil erosion and a crack near a railway bridge in Araria. The affected location is near BR-5 bridge in Ward No. 7 of Khwaspur.

Residents said erosion was noticed close to the railway track after heavy rainfall. They expressed concern that continued soil movement could affect nearby embankments and structures, potentially creating risks for railway operations.

The Araria-Galgalia project is considered important for improving connectivity in the region and is expected to provide an alternative rail route. Residents have demanded a technical inspection of the affected section and assessment of the embankment and bridge structure.
