IIT Patna’s Hybrid Programmes See Sharp Enrolment Growth

IIT Patna’s hybrid degree programmes have witnessed a significant rise in enrolment, with student registrations crossing 5,000. According to the institute, enrolment increased from 1,892 students in 2023 to around 3,800 in 2024 and 5,141 in 2025, while registrations for the 2026 cohort are underway.

The programmes, launched in 2023 after approval from the institute’s Senate and Board of Governors, were designed to offer flexible learning aligned with emerging industry requirements and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Current offerings span artificial intelligence, data science, computer science, data analytics, business analytics and cybersecurity. Undergraduate programmes include BSc and BS degrees, while postgraduate options cover areas such as computer science, AI, data science and cloud computing.

Admission routes vary, with undergraduate applicants entering through JEE and other routes, while postgraduate programmes target working professionals. IIT Patna has also introduced short-term certification courses and internship opportunities, with facilities being developed to support hybrid learning and examinations.
