Patna Police Bust Digital Arrest Cyber Fraud Gang

Patna: Cyber police have busted an organised gang allegedly involved in digital arrest and online financial fraud, arresting three suspects. The accused have been identified as Gaurav Kumar, 28, Adarsh Kumar, 28, and Aman Raj, 26, all from Patna district.

Police recovered six mobile phones, two laptops, a four-wheeler, five ATM cards, two passbooks, three cheque books, a stamp and Rs 81,400 in cash from their possession.

Technical investigation revealed that the suspects were allegedly linked to a larger cybercrime network operating across Bihar and other states. Complaints worth crores of rupees have reportedly been registered against the network on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP).

A case was registered at the Patna Cyber Police Station on September 2 under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Sections 66(C) and 66(D) of the Information Technology Act.

The three accused have been sent to judicial custody, while police are investigating the seized devices and searching for other members of the network.
