Nishant Kumar Opens 12-Bed ICU, Announces 30-Bed Super Specialty Unit in Muzaffarpur

Muzaffarpur: Bihar Health Minister Nishant Kumar on Thursday inaugurated a 12-bed advanced ICU at Tata Cancer Hospital on the Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital campus in Muzaffarpur. He also announced a new 30-bed super-specialty ICU in the PICU ward to improve treatment facilities for children.

After the inauguration, Kumar inspected various departments of the cancer hospital, reviewing medicines, diagnostic services, modern medical equipment and doctors’ availability. He directed medical and administrative officials to ensure that patients receive quality healthcare without compromise.

Speaking to reporters, the minister said the Muzaffarpur cancer hospital would be developed into a more advanced and fully equipped facility. He stressed that cancer patients and those suffering from other serious illnesses in north Bihar should not have to travel to Patna or outside the state for treatment.

Kumar said the government is working to strengthen Bihar’s healthcare infrastructure from rural facilities to medical colleges, with the aim of ensuring timely medical advice, diagnosis and quality treatment for all citizens.
