Bihar Supply Officers Call Off Protest After Government Accepts Key Demands

Bihar supply officers have called off their proposed statewide protest after the state government accepted several key demands. The Bihar State Supply Service Association had planned collective leave and protests over pending issues, including ration cards for nearly 11 lakh new beneficiaries.

The government assured officers that pending promotions would be cleared by September 30 and promised to examine salary deductions involving 54 supply officers. Officials will also review the possibility of restoring deducted salaries.

Other accepted demands include revising designations under the Bihar Supply Service Cadre Rules, 2012, expanding promotional opportunities, and updating the Bihar Supply Service Cadre Rules, 2007, with new provisions for 2026.

The government also agreed to provide vehicles for field duties, particularly to block supply and assistant district supply officers. Officers sought increased budgets for stationery, repairs and maintenance. Following these assurances, the association withdrew its planned agitation and decided to resume normal duties across Bihar.
