Patna Metro Tunnel Between Rajendra Nagar, Patna Junction Completed

The first 7.5-km tunnel of Patna Metro Corridor 2 between Rajendra Nagar and Patna Junction has been completed, marking a major milestone for the city’s metro project. Work on the second tunnel and connecting ramps is continuing.

The corridor, covering 14.55 km, includes both underground and elevated sections. Construction has progressed on 635 metres of the up-tunnel and 587 metres of the down-tunnel in the ramp section.

Civil works, track installation, electrical systems and other infrastructure are also underway in the underground section. The elevated portion includes stations such as ISBT, Zero Mile, Bhootnath and Malahi Pakri.

The underground network will connect Rajendra Nagar, Moin-ul-Haq Stadium, Patna University, PMCH, Gandhi Maidan, Akashvani and Patna Junction. Khemni Chak interchange is expected to open in October, while Khemni Chak-Mithapur services are planned for 2027.

Officials expect the expanded metro network to improve connectivity as additional sections become operational.
