Thieves allegedly stole copper cables worth lakhs from Patna’s Lok Nayak Jay Prakash Hospital, disrupting MRI services for hours. According to hospital officials, the suspects entered the premises and removed wiring connected to the MRI machine during the early hours of Saturday. Staff noticed the theft after finding damaged cables and informed hospital management.

Officials said copper wiring installed outside the MRI laboratory was among the items stolen. The incident affected patients who had arrived for scheduled scans, forcing the hospital to delay services until damaged wiring could be replaced.

The theft has raised concerns over security arrangements at the hospital complex. Police are expected to examine CCTV footage and determine how the suspects entered the premises. Authorities may investigate whether inadequate security contributed to the incident. Hospital officials said services would resume after repairs and equipment checks are completed.
