Muzaffarpur: Flipkart Parcel Van Catches Fire, Hundreds of Packages Destroyed

A Flipkart courier service parcel pickup van caught fire near Narsanda Chowk in Muzaffarpur’s Kanti police station area on Friday, triggering panic among residents. The blaze quickly engulfed the vehicle’s rear section, destroying hundreds of parcels carrying customers’ goods. Nearly half of the van was badly damaged before firefighters brought the fire under control.

According to witnesses, the driver had locked the vehicle and left shortly before flames and thick smoke emerged. Police and fire officials rushed to the spot and, with help from local residents, extinguished the blaze. Some parcels were reportedly salvaged, while many were reduced to ashes.

A short circuit is suspected to have caused the fire, though authorities have not confirmed the reason. Kanti police said the loss will be assessed after examining the damaged and recovered parcels. No complaint has been filed so far today.
