Patliputra Township Project Gets Major Infrastructure Push

The Bihar government has accelerated plans for the Patliputra Township, a large urban development project near Patna spread across 81,654.12 acres. The township is expected to accommodate nearly 10 lakh residents by 2037 and will feature residential, commercial and industrial zones.

According to the blueprint, the project will include healthcare, education, policing and transport infrastructure. Plans include 66 primary health centres, 10 polyclinics, four general hospitals and 10 veterinary hospitals. Educational facilities will comprise 400 pre-primary schools, 200 primary schools, 130 secondary or senior secondary schools, eight colleges and a university.

The township will also have 11 police stations and 22 police posts, along with emergency services. Metro connectivity has been proposed to improve public transport links with Patna. Authorities also plan community halls, clubs, cultural centres, roads and other civic facilities, aiming to create an integrated urban settlement with modern amenities.
