Patna traffic police have announced extensive restrictions around Gandhi Maidan for the state-level Independence Day ceremony on August 15. General traffic movement between Dakbungalow Crossing and Gandhi Maidan will remain suspended until the celebrations conclude.
Several key routes, including New Dakbungalow Road, Fraser Road, Kottwali Junction, Gandhi Maidan and parts of Patna Junction, will face restrictions. Vehicle movement near the SDO residence and JP Golambar will also be regulated.
Commuters have been advised to use alternative routes, including Exhibition Road, Buddha Marg, Marine Drive and Ashok Rajpath, depending on their destination. Auto-rickshaws, e-rickshaws, city buses and private vehicles will follow designated diversion routes during the ceremony.
Vehicles approaching Patna Junction will be diverted through Bhattacharya Crossing, Buddha Marg and other designated roads, while traffic from Khazanchi Road will be redirected towards Ashok Rajpath and Gai Ghat.
Authorities have urged commuters to plan journeys in advance and follow traffic personnel’s instructions to avoid congestion and inconvenience during the celebrations.
