Patna Airport Introduces New Parking Policy, Hikes Charges for Commercial Vehicles

Patna Airport has implemented a revised parking policy following the appointment of a new parking contractor, introducing higher charges for commercial vehicles while extending free pick-and-drop time for private vehicles. Passengers arriving in private cars now get nine minutes of free access, up from seven minutes. Entry charges for commercial vehicles, including Ola and Uber cabs, have increased from ₹40 to ₹55. Parking fees for private cars and seven-seater SUVs have doubled from ₹20 to ₹40 for up to 30 minutes, while two-wheelers continue to pay ₹10. A new premium parking category has also been introduced, offering faster exit access through designated multi-level parking spaces, with charges starting at ₹100 for 30 minutes. Airport authorities said the revised rates align with other Category-B airports in India. Around 3,000 vehicles enter the airport daily, with nearly 1,200 using the free pick-and-drop facility and about 1,800 paying parking charges.
