The Bihar Excise Department has seized 581.82 litres of illegal liquor and beer during two separate raids in Bagaha as part of the state's prohibition enforcement drive. In the first operation at Purandarpur village under Ramnagar police station limits, officials recovered 456 litres of beer from an abandoned tractor-trailer, while the suspected smuggler escaped. In another raid on the Bagaha–Valmikinagar road, officers intercepted a Bolero and discovered 125.82 litres of foreign liquor concealed inside a specially built hidden compartment near the engine. The driver was arrested on the spot. Authorities have registered cases under the Excise Act and launched an investigation to identify others involved in the alleged smuggling network. Officials said the arrested suspect is being questioned, while raids are continuing to trace the absconding accused and uncover the supply chain behind the seized consignment.
