Senior RJD MLA Bhai Virendra has called for a comprehensive review of the party's organisation following its disappointing performance in the Bankipur Assembly by-election. He said the party must reassess the team surrounding Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav, claiming some individuals have lost public confidence and failed to justify the trust placed in them. Virendra urged the RJD to strengthen its grassroots network, promote capable local leaders and reconnect directly with voters. He also alleged that several RJD supporters voted for Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor because they believed he was the strongest candidate to defeat the BJP. Rejecting JD(U)'s claim that BJP would have won had Nitish Kumar campaigned actively, Virendra argued that Nitish Kumar played the biggest role in expanding the BJP's influence in Bihar. He stressed that the party must accept its shortcomings, undertake introspection and formulate a stronger strategy ahead of future elections.
