BJP Accepts Bankipur Verdict, Promises Review

Bihar BJP president Sanjay Sarawagi said the party would fully respect the people's verdict in the high-profile Bankipur Assembly by-election, stressing that the democratic mandate remains supreme. He stated that if the final result goes against the BJP, the party will conduct a detailed review to understand why voters distanced themselves despite extensive development work in the constituency. Sarawagi said the organisation would analyse the election at every level and address any shortcomings to regain public confidence. He also assured that the BJP's commitment to Bankipur's development would continue regardless of the outcome. Meanwhile, counting continued in the constituency, with Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor strengthening his position after the 27th round. According to the latest trends, Kishor had secured 55,780 votes, leading BJP candidate Neeraj Sinha by 16,887 votes. With four of the total 31 counting rounds remaining, officials said the final result was expected later in the day.
