Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) is set to introduce affordable CT scan and MRI services before August 15, significantly reducing the cost of diagnostic imaging for patients. Under the new initiative, CT scans will be available for ₹450, while MRI services will also be launched at rates nearly 25 percent lower than those charged by AIIMS Patna. Hospital authorities plan to provide 71 CT scan and 109 MRI diagnostic tests through the upgraded facilities, improving access to advanced healthcare for thousands of patients. The initiative is expected to reduce the financial burden on people who currently rely on expensive private diagnostic centres or travel to other hospitals for imaging services. Officials said the expansion of diagnostic facilities forms part of PMCH's broader modernization programme aimed at strengthening public healthcare infrastructure and ensuring timely, affordable and high-quality medical services for patients across Bihar.
