Patna Police Transfers 79 Outpost Chiefs to Strengthen Crime Control

Patna: In a major administrative overhaul aimed at improving law and order, Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya Sharma has transferred 79 outpost (OP) in-charges along with a large number of police personnel across urban and rural areas of the district. The reshuffle is part of a broader strategy to strengthen crime prevention, improve intelligence gathering, and enhance police presence in vulnerable locations.

According to the police, newly activated outposts will closely monitor suspicious activities, track habitual offenders, and intervene before crimes occur. The decision follows an analysis of recent incidents of murder, robbery, dacoity, and snatching, which revealed that criminals often exploit poorly monitored routes to escape.

The SSP has directed that each newly established outpost be staffed with 10 armed police personnel from the Patna Police Centre to ensure faster response to emergencies. Officials believe the new deployment strategy will increase surveillance, deter criminal activities, and enhance public confidence in policing across the district.
