Bihar Strengthens Police Fleet With 84 New Vehicles

Patna: The Bihar government has strengthened the state's policing infrastructure by inducting 84 new vehicles into the police fleet. Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary formally flagged off 30 four-wheel-drive vehicles, six ambulances and 48 buses for deployment across districts and police headquarters units. The Special Task Force received 20 SUVs and four ambulances, while the Home Guards were allotted 10 SUVs and two ambulances. All 48 buses will serve district police and Bihar Military Police units to improve personnel movement. The government has also initiated procurement of 1,500 scooters for women police personnel, known as “Police Didi,” to enhance patrol operations. Additionally, the process of purchasing 3,200 motorcycles for urban and rural police stations is underway. Authorities said condemned vehicles will be replaced in phases with modern fleets, aiming to improve mobility, emergency response, operational efficiency and overall policing across Bihar.
