Ashok Choudhary Backs JDU Decision, Defends Government Policies

Bihar minister Ashok Choudhary has defended the Janata Dal (United)'s decision to expel his close associate Chhotu Singh, stating that the party's decision is final, though it may reconsider the matter in the future if required. Reacting to Tejashwi Yadav's absence from public events, Choudhary said it was an internal matter of the RJD and would not affect Bihar politics. He also rejected the opposition's criticism of the government's decision to allow panchayats to levy certain taxes, arguing that local bodies require financial resources to improve infrastructure and public services. Choudhary further endorsed the One Nation, One Election proposal, saying synchronized polls would reduce disruptions to governance and development. Commenting on the recent police encounter involving suspects in the Bunti Yadav murder case, he asserted that Bihar Police acts strictly within the framework of law and takes appropriate action against criminals in accordance with legal procedures.
