Patna Police Nab Bunti Yadav Murder Suspect After Encounter

Patna: The prime accused in the sensational kidnapping and murder of Bunti Yadav was arrested following an early-morning police encounter in Patna on Thursday. Ravish Kumar alias Bisiya, who had been on the run, was intercepted by a joint team of Kotwali and Buddha Colony police after receiving a tip-off about his movement into the city.

According to police, the accused allegedly opened fire on the team while attempting to escape, with one bullet striking the bonnet of the Kotwali SHO's vehicle. Police retaliated in self-defence, injuring Ravish in the leg before taking him into custody. He was shifted to PMCH for treatment.

Investigators recovered a loaded country-made pistol, blood samples and other evidence from the encounter site, while forensic experts examined the area.

Ravish is the main accused in the July 6 kidnapping and brutal murder of Bunti Yadav, whose body was recovered five days later from Athmalgola. Police said the investigation is continuing to identify other conspirators and strengthen the prosecution with forensic evidence.
