Bihar Education Officials to Visit Villages Monthly to Improve Government Schools

The Bihar Education Department is preparing to launch monthly village visits by District Education Officers (DEOs) and Block Education Officers (BEOs) to improve government schools and strengthen accountability.

Under the initiative, officials will spend a full day every month in designated villages, meeting parents of government school students to gather feedback on teaching quality, teacher availability, infrastructure and other educational concerns.

Following these interactions, DEOs will prepare detailed reports identifying problems and areas requiring improvement. School headmasters will receive the findings, while officials will conduct follow-up visits to check whether corrective measures have been implemented.

The programme follows complaints raised during Shiksha Shivirs, where parents highlighted teacher shortages, irregular attendance and poor infrastructure. Reports covering village visits, parent consultations, student enrolment, teachers and facilities will be submitted to departmental headquarters for further monitoring and action.
