Police have arrested two accused in connection with a viral video showing the alleged harassment of a young woman and her cousin in Bihar's Nawada district. Acting on the complaint filed by the victim, Thali Police registered an FIR and launched an investigation under the directions of Superintendent of Police Avinash Dhiman. Officials identified the accused, Dharmendra Kumar and Bahadur Chaudhary, by tracing the registration number of a motorcycle seen in the viral footage. Police clarified that social media claims portraying the incident as communal were false and misleading. According to the investigation, the woman and the young man seen in the video are relatives who were returning home after an examination and had stopped under a tree to rest and drink water when they were allegedly harassed by local miscreants. Police said efforts are underway to identify and arrest the remaining suspects and warned that strict legal action would be taken against those spreading misinformation or attempting to disturb communal harmony.
