Patna Civic Assets Go Digital as PMC Launches Smart Mapping Initiative

Patna: The Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has launched a major digital initiative to improve transparency, governance and public access to civic services by digitising municipal assets across the city. Using Geographic Information System (GIS) technology, PMC has mapped ward-level infrastructure, enabling residents to easily locate public facilities through an online platform. A dedicated mobile application is also being developed to provide seamless access to these services.

The digital portal features 15 categories of civic assets, including ward offices, public toilets, parks, hospitals, schools, water supply points, community halls, parking areas, CCTV cameras and municipal kiosks. Citizens can also identify their ward, view administrative boundaries and access contact details of local civic officials.

PMC has additionally created a digital inventory of advertising assets to improve monitoring and revenue collection. Municipal Commissioner Yashpal Meena said the initiative will simplify public access to civic services, strengthen infrastructure management and enhance transparency and administrative efficiency across the city.
