Bihar Health Minister Orders Immediate Reforms After Surprise Hospital Inspection

Bihar Health Minister Nishant Kumar conducted a surprise inspection of Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital in Patna, ordering immediate reforms to improve patient care, cleanliness and healthcare services. During his visit, he reviewed the Trauma Centre, outpatient department (OPD), pathology unit, medicine distribution centre, canteen, MRI centre and ongoing infrastructure projects.

The minister directed hospital authorities to ensure round-the-clock pathology services, increase the number of laboratory technicians and paramedical staff, and strictly follow treatment protocols. He also instructed officials to improve sanitation, food quality, medicine availability and patient facilities without delay.

Nishant Kumar warned that negligence affecting patient treatment would not be tolerated and stressed accountability among doctors and healthcare workers. He also reviewed the progress of the hospital's under-construction building and emphasised timely completion of the project, stating that the government is committed to strengthening Bihar's public healthcare system through better infrastructure and efficient medical services.
