DRDO Invites Applications for Junior Research Fellowship, Offers ₹37,000 Monthly Stipend

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has invited applications for its 2026 Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) programme at the Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE). Eligible engineering graduates with a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score can submit their applications offline or via email until July 15. Selected candidates will work on cutting-edge defence research projects involving automotive systems, electronics, communication technologies and computer-based defence systems. Applicants must possess a BE or BTech degree in the relevant discipline and meet the prescribed age criteria under government norms. The selection process will include shortlisting, followed by a written test and interview. Chosen fellows will receive a monthly stipend of ₹37,000 along with House Rent Allowance (HRA) and medical facilities as per DRDO guidelines. The fellowship also offers an opportunity to pursue part-time PhD research under applicable institutional rules.
