Bharat Tiwari Encounter: Family Threatens Hunger Strike, Demands Action Against Police

The family of Bharat Tiwari, who was killed in the Bhojpur police encounter, has announced that his mother, Asha Devi, will begin an indefinite hunger strike from July 9 if their demands are not met. Speaking to reporters, family members demanded the immediate arrest of police personnel, including senior officers, against whom an FIR has been registered. They also sought security for the family, alleging suspicious activity near their home following the incident. The family urged authorities to inform them in advance whenever officials visit for the investigation so they can fully cooperate. They further demanded the withdrawal of FIRs filed against villagers, claiming many innocent residents were falsely implicated in the case. According to the family, cases have been registered against 14 named individuals and around 50 unidentified villagers. They called for an impartial investigation and removal of innocent names from the FIR.
