A woman in Agra allegedly killed her alcoholic husband after enduring repeated abuse and harassment. According to police, she mixed sleeping pills into his kheer on May 17 and later found him unresponsive. She buried the body inside the bathroom, covered it with मिट्टी and gravel, and later got the floor cemented. The crime remained hidden for nearly 45 days before it was uncovered during the investigation.

Police said the accused confessed during nearly 14 hours of questioning. She reportedly admitted that she carried out the murder and disposed of the body without anyone’s help. At the time of the incident, the couple’s two daughters were asleep in the same room, while the victim’s elderly mother was in another room. Investigators recovered a skeleton after breaking the bathroom floor and collected DNA samples to confirm the identity. The woman reportedly broke down in tears during the interrogation, expressing remorse over her actions. The mason and labourer who constructed the floor were questioned and later released after police found no evidence linking them to the crime.

Officials said forensic reports, including the DNA examination and post-mortem findings, will help establish the exact cause of death and strengthen the case. Police believe the accused acted alone based on the evidence collected so far, though the investigation is still ongoing. The woman has been produced before a local court and sent to judicial custody. Authorities stated that further legal action will depend on scientific evidence and the final forensic reports. The case has drawn attention due to the shocking manner in which the body was concealed inside the family home for several weeks.
