Bihar to Recruit 4,000 Contract Assistant Professors for 211 New Colleges

The Bihar government is set to recruit around 4,000 contract Assistant Professors for 211 newly established government degree colleges to strengthen higher education across the state. The Bihar State University Service Commission (BSUSC) is expected to release the official recruitment notification by July 5. In the first phase, appointments will be made in six subjects—Hindi, English, History, Economics, Political Science, and Sociology. Applicants must possess a postgraduate degree in the relevant subject along with UGC-NET qualification or a PhD. The selection process will emphasize academic merit, with 88 marks allocated for academic performance and 12 marks for the interview, ensuring a transparent recruitment system. Selected candidates will receive a basic monthly salary of ₹57,700 along with applicable allowances. The Higher Education Department believes the recruitment will address faculty shortages, improve teaching standards, and ensure quality education in the state's newly established government colleges.
