Patna Metro Expands With Malahi Pakri Station Opening

Patna: Patna Metro has expanded its operational network with the inauguration of the Malahi Pakri Metro Station, marking another milestone in the city's rapid transit project. The new extension now allows passengers to travel between New ISBT and Malahi Pakri through five operational stations, significantly improving connectivity in eastern Patna. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the station in the presence of Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, along with senior government officials. Although trains are passing through Khemnichak station, it is not yet open for passengers as construction work continues. Metro services currently operate every 15 minutes, with plans to increase frequency to every five minutes as additional rakes are introduced. Officials believe the expanded corridor will reduce traffic congestion on major roads, including Bypass and Rajendra Nagar-Kankarbagh routes, while offering commuters a faster, safer, and more convenient public transport option. Further expansion is expected in the coming months.
