Bihar Transfers 12 IPS Officers, Rajesh Sharma Posted to Patna

The Bihar government has carried out a major administrative reshuffle in the state police by transferring 12 IPS officers and 53 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs). The move is aimed at strengthening policing, improving operational efficiency and reorganising key wings of the department. Among the prominent changes, SDPO Rajesh Sharma, who was associated with the Bharat Tiwari encounter case, has been posted to Patna. IPS officer Pankaj Kumar Darad has been transferred from the Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) and given a new assignment. Several senior officers have also been shifted across important departments, including law and order, crime investigation, cybercrime, economic offences and special task units. The reshuffle includes new responsibilities for officers handling vigilance, prohibition, railways and district policing. Officials said the transfers are part of the government's broader strategy to enhance law enforcement, streamline police administration and ensure better coordination across the state's security and investigative agencies.
