Buxar Administration Pulls Up Power Department Over Frequent Outages

Buxar: The Buxar administration has directed the power department to take immediate and long-term measures to improve electricity supply following repeated outages and growing public complaints during the summer. Chairing a review meeting, the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) sought explanations from officials over prolonged power cuts and frequent faults caused by damaged transmission lines. Department officials cited rising electricity demand due to increased use of air conditioners, coolers and induction cooktops, which has placed additional stress on the existing network. Unsatisfied with the explanation, the SDO instructed officials to strengthen transmission infrastructure, replace weak lines and prepare a long-term plan capable of meeting demand for the next 10 to 20 years. Consumers must also be informed in advance through SMS alerts before any scheduled maintenance shutdowns. The administration further proposed incentives for field staff and linemen, while reiterating its commitment to ensuring reliable and uninterrupted power supply across urban and rural areas.
