Patna to Install QR Codes at Coaching Centres for Instant Fire Safety Checks

Patna: The Patna district administration is set to introduce a QR code-based fire safety verification system at coaching institute entrances to improve transparency and strengthen student safety. Under the initiative, every coaching institute will receive a unique QR code linked to its verified fire safety compliance records. By scanning the code, students, parents and visitors will be able to instantly access key information, including fire safety certifications and compliance status. Institutes will also be required to submit detailed digital information about their buildings, student strength, emergency exits, fire extinguishers, alarm systems and other safety measures. Authorities clarified that the QR system will complement, not replace, regular physical inspections and surprise verification drives. Officials said the initiative follows increased scrutiny of coaching centres after recent safety concerns. The administration aims to ensure continuous monitoring throughout the year, improve accountability and maintain updated, publicly accessible safety records for all verified coaching institutes across Patna.
