Patna Metro Update: Bailey Road Lane Closure Deferred

The Patna administration has indefinitely postponed the proposed lane closure on Bailey Road for Patna Metro construction, citing the ongoing monsoon season and the need to avoid severe traffic congestion. Officials said underground metro work will continue at existing construction sites without disrupting normal vehicle movement.

The traffic restrictions were originally planned to facilitate underground metro work along one of the city's busiest roads. However, authorities decided that closing a lane during the rainy season could worsen congestion and inconvenience commuters.

Metro construction is currently progressing at multiple locations between Income Tax Golambar and Patna Zoo, with barricaded work zones already in place. Vehicles will continue to move in both directions while construction advances.

Officials said revised traffic arrangements will be announced when the project reaches a stage that requires lane restrictions. The administration has assured residents that balancing infrastructure development with smooth traffic flow remains its priority.
