11-Year-Old Killed in Hit-and-Run, Villagers Block Highway in Protest

Tension gripped Bihar’s Patna district on Friday after an 11-year-old boy was killed in a tragic road accident near Maksudpur under the Fatuha police station area. The victim, identified as Rajveer Kumar, was reportedly crossing the road around 10 a.m. when a speeding pickup van struck him and fled towards Bakhtiyarpur. The impact was so severe that the child died on the spot.

Following the incident, angry villagers gathered at the scene and blocked the Fatuha-Bakhtiyarpur SH-106 by placing the body on the road. Protesters demanded compensation for the bereaved family and the immediate arrest of the driver. Traffic remained completely disrupted for several hours.

Police, led by Fatuha Station House Officer Shrimant Suman, reached the spot and attempted to pacify the crowd. However, protesters refused to lift the blockade. Authorities said efforts were underway to restore normalcy and send the body for post-mortem examination.
