South Bihar Youth Shine in Agniveer Recruitment, 82% Secure Final Selection

The Agniveer recruitment rally conducted by the Army Recruitment Office (ARO), Gaya, has delivered impressive results, highlighting the enthusiasm and dedication of youth from South Bihar toward military service. The recruitment drive, held in March 2026 with support from the Gaya district administration, provided nearly 8,000 candidates from 11 districts an opportunity to compete for entry into the Indian Army.

According to recruitment officials, around half of the participants successfully cleared the demanding physical and medical examinations. Among those who qualified, a remarkable 82 percent secured a place in the final merit list under the Agnipath scheme, marking one of the region’s strongest performances in recent years.

The recruitment process also saw significant success for National Cadet Corps (NCC) participants, with 363 cadets earning final selection. Army authorities said the selected Agniveers will begin their military training at various training centres across the country from July 1, 2026, before commencing active service.
