Businessman Killed in Samastipur Over Long-Running Shop Dispute, One Detained

Samastipur: A shocking murder in Bihar’s Samastipur district has triggered outrage after a local businessman was allegedly killed over a long-running shop dispute. The victim, 40-year-old Madan Sah of Satanpur Pethiya under Ujiarpur police station limits, was reportedly attacked late Sunday night and died on the spot.

According to family members, Madan Sah, who dealt in tobacco and yam (jimikand), had been receiving threats for several months due to a dispute over a shop. Relatives alleged that the accused had threatened to kill him just hours before the attack. They claim he was brutally assaulted with an iron rod, causing fatal head injuries.

The incident sparked panic in the area, with large crowds gathering at the scene. Police reached the spot, sent the body for postmortem, and detained one suspect for questioning. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and further action will follow based on evidence.
