Monsoon Reaches Bihar, But Heat and Humidity Continue Across 19 Districts

Patna: The southwest monsoon has officially entered Bihar, but residents across several districts continue to grapple with intense heat and high humidity. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for rainfall in 19 districts, forecasting light to moderate showers over the coming days.

Despite cloud cover and scattered rainfall, temperatures remain elevated in many areas. Sheikhpura recorded the state's highest temperature at around 40 degrees Celsius, while Patna and several other districts reported uncomfortable humidity levels. Meteorologists attribute the persistent discomfort to moisture-laden monsoon winds that have increased atmospheric humidity.

The weather department expects rainfall activity to gradually intensify, particularly in northern and central Bihar, bringing some relief from the ongoing heat. Forecasts indicate cloudy skies, gusty winds, and intermittent showers throughout the week. However, humid conditions are likely to continue even as temperatures begin to decline across parts of the state.
