PATNA’S ₹293-CRORE FLYOVER SET TO TRANSFORM CITY TRAFFIC, OPENING TARGETED FOR DECEMBER 2026

Patna is set to witness a major boost in urban connectivity with the Mithapur–Chiraiyatand Flyover project progressing steadily toward its scheduled completion in December 2026. The ₹293.74-crore project is being developed to ease chronic traffic congestion in key parts of the city, particularly around the busy Karbigahiya railway station area.

During a recent site inspection, Road Construction Department Secretary Pankaj Kumar Pal reviewed construction progress and directed engineers and contractors to maintain quality standards while ensuring timely completion. Officials stated that foundation work has already been completed, while substructure, superstructure, and approach road construction are nearing significant milestones.

The 1,730-meter-long flyover will connect important locations, including Mithapur Golambar, Chiraiyatand, Karbigahiya, and Lakharaniya, while also linking the corridor to the NH-30 bypass. Once operational, the project is expected to reduce travel time, improve traffic flow, and provide smoother connectivity across several of Patna’s busiest routes.
